Learning Without Frontiers (LWF11)

Standard

My next few posts will be documentation from my time in London when I visited the Learning Without Frontiers Festival & Conference earlier this month.

The conference began with sunday service and it was a great start to the event with Jason Bradbury presenting his Dot Robot Show. Delivering 90 minutes on how technology has allowed him to create a series of characters for his book series. Although all the characters of his book are his creation, they are all based on science and current technologies that is either available now or are being experimented with for future uses. Jason was talking about robots with A.I. and programmed to achieve certain tasks and incorporating subjects such as augmented reality in his characters. Some of the concepts were demonstrated through current toys/gadgets such as a Dancing Robot and the AR Drone.

This was a fun event and in terms of technology that was being used, it really set the tone for an stimulating, inspiring and interactive conference.

  1. Saw one of those app controlled helicopters when in Selfages in London before Christmas they looked very cool, I think they were about £400 so very expensive as well, i think TEL should invest in one for further reasearch!
